Definition is sometimes clearer or easier when describing what something is not rather than what it is. Many different unions of construction details comprise a delightful and endless array as possibilities which can be explored in these highly sophisticated outdoor spaces.

More formally functional spatial enclosures can be achieved with sunrooms, pool houses, summerhouses, pavilions, or even site-specific storage rooms in the landscape. All of these have a way of punctuating the outdoor environment with very specific spatial facility that can provide the client/ user with his or her own expression of personality and experience.

There are other miscellaneous items that don't fall into any specific category of construction yet become an integrated part of the whole. They can also sometimes stand alone. These items are grading, demolition, clearing, leveling, and waterproofing. Each carries its own weighted function and is very integral in how the finished production charts its course.
